My name is Ryan,
I'm, now 21 years old and have been collecting autographs for about eight years. Of
course I did start before that, but they were the occasional in-person
autographs at the ballgames.
I remember my first autograph request wasn't an autograph request at all. I sent
a 3 page handwritten letter (I was in third grade, so my handwriting was
terrible-- still is!) to Chuck Norris. I invited him to dinner, I told him my
mom would make turkey and he could sleep over. When I was younger all the way up
until the new cast members joined the cast, I was one of the biggest Walker fans
around, I'd watch every week and the reruns on USA. I didn't like the additions
of Judson Mills and Nia Peeples, they're great actors, but they took focus off
of Chuck Norris and Clarence Gilyard, who, I thought, made the show. Anyway, a
few weeks later, I received the letter back in the mail and a 8x10 b&w cast
photo, which, I later found out, was a fake. It didn't stop me though.
I sent out requests to many after that. It worked for me, I had built a nice
steady collection, with some fakes, but I didn't let them bother me,.
I'm a huge hockey fan and my collection of hockey autographs is constantly growing. I have many things in that collection that I am very proud of.
