Al Gore
Friends Select School
7/18/06

After inviting a friend of ours to the signing we planned on attending at Book-Ends in Ridgewood, NJ, he told us that there was going to be a more local one in Philadelphia at the Friends Select School. We decided that it'd be a lot easier to go to this one.

We got there kind of early and there were all kinds of people trying to give us stuff and propaganda. One of the funnier ones was this old crazy lady who was trying to get me to join the green party.. She made me laugh.

We got inside and bought our book, got in line and started waiting, and waiting. Al eventually came in and said a few words. He seemed really nice and enthusiastic abotu his project. After waiting in line for a while at a stand still, it began to move very steadily. At one point, one line decided it would be cool to bypass the whole zig-zag line formation and just go ahead of one of the lanes, screwing everything up. But we managed to get back into line and got up there.

When I got up to him I gave him my book, he put it aside, shook my hand and i told him we needed someone like him in office. He said "I appreciate the words of encouragement, thank you for coming out!" he then signed my book.

Al was a really nice guy and a true pleasure to meet.
